Translations stability guidelines

Development guidelines to correctly manage the translations in your patches.

In stable versions

• You MUST NOT modify existing terms (even to fix a typo) as it would break existing translations for people fetching the new source code.
• You MAY add or delete existing terms but then MUST modify the related .pot file. Adding new terms is however NOT RECOMMENDED as it may bring inconsistencies before being translated.
• You MAY add a new module but then, (if the module contains translated terms) you MUST update the .tx/config file, export the translations into the i18n/ folder and ask MAT to push the terms to Transifex.
• You SHOULD report detected English errors (typos, badly expressed sentences,...) if still present in 9/master (better: fix it in 9.0)

In master

• You MAY modify or delete existing terms or add new ones. No need to care about .pot files.
• You MAY add, delete or merge a module but then, (if the module contains translated terms) you MUST update the .tx/config file accordingly
• You MUST report (and correct) detected English errors (typos, badly expressed sentences,...).
